The majority of businesses nowadays have websites as a way to inform their audience about their business and to sell their products or service, however, there are still a few businesses surprisingly that still don’t have a website. Let us explain just a handful of the key reasons why you should have a website, why it’s so important and the difference it can make to your business.
1. Reaching a wider audience
Whilst traditional marketing methods may be better at targeting particular demographics and reach the audience that you desire, having a website allows a wider audience to learn more about your business. In 2015; there was over 3.2 Billion Internet users worldwide and this continues to grow.
No more opening hours! Websites allow your customers to browse whenever they like and fits around people’s busy lifestyles. With an increasing number of people buying products online, it’s an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed as sales will almost definitely be increased.
Many businesses may feel disconnected from their customers; especially if they don’t have a physical premise. A website allows a business to engage with their customers and ensure the customers are up-to-date with the latest business developments through newsletters and offers.
Whilst the initial price of having a website created might be quite costly, it is easily paid back and often doesn’t need much work once completed. Therefore, compared to traditional marketing methods such as phone calls and newspaper adverts, it is very affordable and is a worthwhile investment.
Every business will have loyal customers who will continually return. There could be many reasons for their loyalty but having a website and keeping them updated and engaged is a great way to keep them loyal and ensure you haven’t forgotten about them and you appreciate them.
You can’t necessarily guarantee with other channels that you are marketing directly to your customer. With a website, you can ensure your products are targeted directly to your customers even if they aren’t available to buy online.
Websites are an easy way for a business to gather data about their customers. Whether this is by analysing customer’s website traffic or gathering email addresses from newsletters.
Now hopefully you can see the importance of having a website, especially with over 3.2 Billion internet users, why wouldn’t you want to reach such a wide audience?
